A native of Woodbury, CT, I left to attend Middlebury College in VT and never left. I received a BS degree from “Midd.” in Mathematics, married, had 4 boys, and was widowed within a short period of time. Eventually after some graduate studies on Accounting and Education, marriage to Chuck Dickison of Grafton and a short stint of teaching Math, I discovered Real Estate - a perfect union of my interest in old homes and land preservation and my math interests.

I obtained my license in 1988, Brokers license the next year, and in 1995 purchased Barrett and Company, Grafton’s premier (and usually only) real estate office. I was a charter member of the Crown Point Board of Realtors, its second president, and have been Vice President, Director, State Director, Education Director, and am the Ethics and Professional Standards committee head for our Board.  

Eventually, five grandchildren brought on the realization that life speeds by too quickly. I wanted to ski with my grandchildren, ride horses with my husband more often, and in general spend more time out of doors with friends and family. Hence, I decided to sell Barrett and Company, continuing to work with Buyers and Sellers. I love Vermont; Vermont is what we all wish for in a home – interesting people who have time to care about their neighbors and to offer a helping hand, all in a beautiful and uncrowded setting. I am still active in the Real Estate business as an Agent and I enjoy introducing our Buyers to the state we all love. Having lived in Vermont most of my adult life, and in Grafton for 30 years, I think that I have a good understanding of what living here is about, especially for us “flatlanders” (if you’re not born here, you are not a “native”; if you are born here, maybe….). It’s not for everyone, but those of us who live here have chosen to do so, and that makes all the difference.
