Jess's career in real estate began in 2004 with then Barrett & Company and it didn't take long for her to decide she'd found her calling.  Since then she has worn many hats as a licensed REALTOR®, rental agent, marketing director and assistant to Susan LeCours, the Broker/Owner of BVA.  Jess was proud to help welcome Valley Real Estate Group when the company became Barrett & Valley Associates Inc. in 2007.  After a decade in the business she obtained her Broker's License in 2015 soon followed by her NH broker's license.  Currently Jess is the Principal Broker for BVA and manages the company.  “I have the privilege of working with a fantastic group of capable, kind and professional Realtors and support staff, I am committed to my work and this company all the good we provide to our local communities."  In spring of 2026 Jess added that cap to her resume, becoming co-owner of Barrett & Valley.

Jess's favorite part of real estate is developing relationships with the people she meets.  “Getting to know customers and clients enables me to make every transaction as enjoyable and flawless as possible.  I find joy in meeting new people and helping them navigate the ins and outs of home ownership in Vermont.”

Born and raised in Massachusetts, she spent much of her childhood visiting Vermont.  It had always been a special place and she treasured visiting family here.  After graduating from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts with a BA in 2003 she settled down in Vermont for good.  It had finally won her heart over-with a little help from a local boy.  Today Jessica and her husband Ben have 3 children and are deeply engrained in the community they call home.

When she's not in the office you can find Jessica on the sidelines of the local school fields and courts cheering on her children.   She also loves taking advantage of Vermont's laid back, outdoor lifestyle.  Whether it's pickleball, gardening, kayaking or checking sap buckets with her husband, “I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.”
